Title: Lavender Honey
Post by: Tucker1 on October 06, 2009, 11:28:13 PM
Is anyone aware of efforts to place hives in an area where large quantities of lavender are grown?
(Lavender is grown commercially for its oil.)

Is lavender honey anything special?

Regards,

I know they go nuts for it in France and much of Europe.

There is a small farm in southern michigan that sells pick your own lavender.  I have a friend that goes there. They grow a few acres and customers get a ribbon and cut a ribboned bundle for a price.  They also have bee's and sell lavender honey in there store.  I have never been there but i understand its a real hit
