I just finished my observation hive - THANKS Michael Bush for the inspiration to build one at the Northeast Treatment Free Beekeeping Conference. The hive is installed on my porch railing with the entrance facing away from the porch. The inside of the hive rotates 360 degrees so you can look at either side. I will put some bees in next spring.

Tim,
Very nice, I like the key lock..
Now I hope you have a nice rocking chair on that porch, or you may want to ask for one for Christmas :-D
Thanks Rob....Yep, with twin 6 year olds I definitely wanted the locks :)
As for the rocking chair, check - I definitely have that, and I just finished my first batch of homebrew beer so now I have something to drink while I watch ...

Kathy, the problem is that they are already afraid of the bees so I am trying to go the extra mile to make them less afraid... :)
