This site was brought up at the last club meeting. I wish I had known about it earlier!
I have two hives from an old farmer. I would eventually like to have ten. There's much I need to learn first.
Hello and Welcome Hemlock

The members here are willing help and answer your questions, all you need to do is to ask
Johnny
Welcome Hemlock. You have come to the right place. There are bee keeps of all levels and many that are more than happy to help. Just ask or search for your questions. Check out the learning section, much info. can be had by reading from the home page. Your going about it the best way. Starting small and learning during the off season to gear up for expanding. Have fun and enjoy tour fascinating hobby. Hope it brings you much joy.
Hemlock, welcome to our forum, great that you have found us, it is never too late. Nice that you got those colonies from that old farmer, could he also be a mentor for you, maybe that is an option. There is so much to learn and this winter you will have a mountain of information to read. Use our forum here, you can read for a very long time, many wonderfully experienced beekeepers here, and many that don't even yet have their bees. You will soon find out how much you will love to keep bees, even more than you already know. Stick around, this will be a place for you to learn, tell your stories and tales and experiences, we love to listen, and will offer advice and answers to your questions, you only need to ask. And...never consider a question dumb or dumber, we were all once as beginning beekeepers too. Have that great, most awesome day, to live with beautiful health. Cindi

@ 1Reb,
Thank you for welcoming me here. Anymore I come here first with any question I have.
@ Sparky,
QuoteHope it brings you much joy.
So much in fact that I've been sneaking here when no ones watching while at work. SHhhhh...don't tell.
@ Cindi,
Unfortunately the 'Old Farmer' entered a nursing home; that's why he sold his 10 hives. So no mentor for me. That's why this place is such a blessing for me.
@BeeZee,
I came here too after Klaus talked about it. I have found it to be loaded with great information about whatever I have a question about. See you at the meetings.
First, Welcome, then to business.
The old farmer would like nothing better than to have a visitor now and then to ask him about his bees, and tell him how they are doing. You may add 5 years to his life by using him as a mentor.
Give it some serious thought.
@ iddee,
As I recall the farmer was inaccessible but I will look back into that. It would be great to get the low-down on these hives. I'll try again.
Than you.
