Hello everyone,
I ordered foundation from Dadant. I told them I wanted wax foundation. I got the foundation but the invoice says Duragilt.
I thought I asked for 100 percent beeswax foundation and I'm not experienced enough to know if its just a mistake on the invoice or if I've TRULY been sent the wrong product.
Can someone please help me determine if there's been a mistake? Should I be able to tell from looking at it?

If I'm not mistaken Duragilt is a beeswax foundation with metal supports on the ends.
Like every thing else in beekeeping every one has there opinion as to how good it is , personally I started with plastic foundation / foundationless mixture in my hives and never looked back.
it's wax on plastic i believe. search here for opinions. there are some + and some - to it.

Its AFTER I've done my searches that I specifically asked for pure beeswax foundation.
This doesn't SEEM to be plastic at all. It isn't rigid, so I'm wondering if its a mistake and IF its a mistake then is it a mistake in my favor?
In dadents catalouge, duraguilt is described as plastic core wax coated. It has metal ends for support.
Looks like they just wrote it all incorrectly on the invoice but it appears that I have pure beeswax then.
Sorry, but I just freaked a bit when I saw that on the invoice.
Now what I'm wondering is if I was overcharged, or if I underpaid (which would be ideal!)

Duragilt and Duracomb are a smooth, flexible plastic sheet with wax on it and then run through a regular wax mill. The biggest problem with it (aside from it being 5.4mm cell size) is that once the bees strip the wax off of the plastic they never rebuild on the plastic. I have had good enough luck with it at first, but it does not age well as once they strip it down, the facing comb gets fat to fill the space and the combs end up odd and uneven.
You would not be able to tell Duracomb from wax without examining the edge of the comb to see if there is a plastic core. Duragilt has the metal edges on the ends. Duracomb does not.
It appears just to be an error on the invoice. This is definately wax.
