I Want one!  :)
Ifind it interesting that his comment says that working with africanized bees in Brazil requires more smoke.
Everything I have read on africanized bees thus far suggests that africanized bees respond poorly to smoke to begin with.
UNLESS, it's that special Brazilian 'Gold' smoke that has been known to calm down even the rowdiest hippies  as well.
That would be one heck of a smoker in that case.

I talked with a Peace Corps volunteer who taught beekeeping in South America. She said they used LOTS of smoke. Typically it was a two-person operation: one person to operate the smoker and one to do the hive manipulations.
Interesting. As I have no AHB here that I know of, all I can do is read about it.
