As a newbie I occasionally see things in a hive I don't understand. I either don't know what I'm looking at or don't know if something is good or bad. For example; instead of the pollen stored in the comb looking dry and multicolored it now looks wet and the colors are much darker. There is no furry mold on it but something has indeed changed.
I have searched for this in the forum without luck. Perhaps it is a natural process during winter. Perhaps it's the first sign of Armageddon. I do not know!
If you might know something please share. Thank you.
They put honey in the cells with pollen and it ferments to make bee bread. That might be what you are seeing.
