Title: Mann Lake/Better Bee interchangeable
Post by: Shawn on November 30, 2009, 05:04:30 PM
I thought of instead of getting more hives I would just add a super to each of the three hives I have. All my current equipment is from Better Bee but I was thinking of getting the assembled 10 frame mediums with wood frames/rite cell foundation. Will the mediums fit the same on top of the other mediums from Better Bee? I guess I should ask the same about the frames interchanging?

Frames will fit fine.   I believe Betterbee makes their supers out of 7/8" think boards instead of the 3/4" norm.  They won't fit perfectly flush,  but will work just fine.

Robo is correct. The Betterbee boxes are made from thicker wood but work just fine. I currently use both on the same hives with no problems at all.
