these are not available here. they look interesting. i didn't read the whole site but they appear to preserve the general principles that most of us follow, with added size and insulation. i could use some insulation on my hives right now!! hope my bees survive this cold snap........
From their homepage:
As the old beekeepers saying goes, "there is nothing better than spreading thick delicious honey onto a slice of piping hot toast - except when it's been collected by your very own bees."
I've never heard this "old saying"...
i say it every time i do it, and i am old.
To me it looks like a long hive .. you know one that is like the top bar only you use frames .. but that mho..
465 euro- :-\ comes out to be about $690  RDY-B
i know. spendy.
i was interested in the insulation. they almost look like an ice cooler.

It's a form of Top Bar Hive. Saw the same in a Top Bar Hive forum. Build your own for $40 at most.
Insulated? hmmm....how did bees ever survive without humans?

they probably wouldn't have chosen the top of my hill as a place to put their hive. :-D
I'm wiht kathyp - it looks like a beer cooler. Which has started me thinking - maybe I could use an old cooler for a top bar hive.
it is in British Pounds (£) and not Euro (e)
£465=$757.16 !!!!!!!
I have seen these before, they appear neat and efficient.
I personally like the style of the old fashioned wood but that plastic looks like it would be easy to keep clean.
