Title: Is Early April "too early" to get bees in New England?? 30 -50 degree weather
Post by: Greg watkevich on January 27, 2010, 06:21:40 PM
Weather is so unpredictable in April. It could be in the 30's or maybe 50's, and also April is a rainy month.  What precautions need to be taken when receiving bees this early in New England to insure they have the best chance?

April is not too early. I'm actually getting a couple of packages in march. Don't install them if it is lower than the 40's out and don't install them in the rain. If you desire to help them further and maybe get some honey for yourself the first year then feed them. Where in MA are you? You should update your profile.
