Title: Anyone put their girls in a Lavendar field?
Post by: CVBees on February 05, 2010, 04:53:09 PM
I have an organic lavendar farm as an option to place my hives in.  It is less then a mile from home.  It honestly is the best place to put them.  My question is... will the honey taste like lavendar?  They have 13 different species of lavendar and TONS of other herbs fruits and flowering gardens.  Hoping it will be enough for two hives.

If you like the taste of lavendar, go for it.  Someone brought lavendar honey to a meeting.  Only one person (my husband) liked it.

Nothing wrong with lavender, plus bonus having your bees in a safe organic area.

We have some lavender bushes and the girls go crazy on them over a month. A great place to keep bees if you have the chance.
