A small derelict church becomes an apiary for honeybees on the North York Moors.

thats cool. better a warning than an extermination. + it might help keep vandals out? :-D
Great photo. It could easily be a free, silent, no maintenance, unseen guard dog that could show itself in a nasty way at any point. To a nonbeekeeper it's kinda like a Bogey man. It's a magnet to a beekeeper though. If there is a hive, even if it collapses the smells will probably bring in another one the next spring, thus continuing the guarding of the derelict church.
This sign could replace the "Beware of Dogs" sign with the "Beware of Bees". Set up a hive to where the intruder will disturb the bees while trespassing. African farmers are using bees to keep elephants away from their crops. Why not use the same method for intruders?
i am truly glad to see that bees are finding religion in this time of the world amen
