Title: Space between boxes
Post by: Brooklyn on March 07, 2010, 05:37:04 PM
I finished putting together all my boxes. What is an expectable space between two boxes.

Some boxes are very tight fitting top and bottom and others you can pass a hive tool between them.

Should I try to fix them or let the bees do it?

Is there anything as to much space?

Beautiful job on the hives! What I see is most acceptable. A little space as you described is fine, the bees will propolize the space.

if the bees can't fit thru the cracks they will fill in the cracks.

Yep, a hive could fill all those boxes.

Had one 3 years ago, 3 deep brood and 4 medium supers of honey. This was by June 1st.
This was also an April swarm. The big one I have spoke of. :)doak
