Title: Dead hive :(
Post by: Highlandsfreedom on March 13, 2010, 04:49:54 PM
I had one of my colony's die..... well my other hive took all the left over honey so its not a total loss.  But my question is how to get the bees out of the cells?  Do I use tweezers or what?  I think I will use the hive for my split in the big colony this spring like a walk away split but I need to get the dead bees out first right?  or will the new bees do it for me?  Any help would be GREAT!!

Thanks,
Dave

Hold the frame by the top, slightly tap the bottom against something with the side facing the ground. Flip over to the other side and do the same. A couple taps should dislodge most all the bees. :)doak
