Title: Bees in chimney
Post by: wetland bee on March 15, 2010, 07:26:38 PM
I have a capecod style home with bees in chimney that I have checked out. Looks simple. Easy to walk up the roof to chimney.I Have a inner cover with three way bee escape in it. Placing that on top of chimney then a single deep with bees and cover. My question is timing. Bees will swarm the last week of April in my area.do I trap  2nd week of April or sooner

You're lucky.  I had that a few years ago.  They were pretty far into the chimney.  Got the whole hive out but it was destroyed in the process because of how we had to get it.  We couldn't reach without the aid of some long reaching tools (aka garden hoe).
