Title: Mouse damage
Post by: Highlandsfreedom on April 05, 2010, 04:09:14 PM
I have a nuc that the bees froze in but it still has honey in it although its very dark honey.  I didn't close the entrance and sure enough a mouse found a new home.  It chewed up the bottom of the wax on plastic foundation but there is still honey at top of the frames.  My question is can I let my girls rob it of its honey and then use the old wax for a swarm trap or do mice carry anything that would hurt the frames?

Your plan should be fine.   I don't know about your area,  but I sure had a lot more mice issues last winter than usual.
