Yesterday, all evening and night I did the first removal. Took a while to locate the hive as they were sprayed two years ago and great stuff foam everywhere.
Look at the second pic, a bee carrying purple pollen. Others had it also, but not many as I could only snap a shot of this one.
Maybe wisteria? I don't know, it is blooming big time now, but I've never seen honeybees on wisteria only bumbles and carpenter bees.
The second set of pics is from today. Caught four queens from this colony. The theme this year so for is cut outs with multiple queens. I'm catchin them before and after swarming.

Dude. Look at all those roaches in the ceiling cutout. How do you keep from sucking some of those buggers up and bringing them home?
I left the roaches and took the bees. I hate those suckers, nasty! Notice how full they were on honey drippings? :-P

Yes, I set them up and get them going, feed them also if need be. Once they are strong I move them.

Ok so you wait until there strong and also confirm they are free from disease and pests before transferring then to your main apiary right??
I rarely get any that have any significant problems. If they are slow in recovering shb may be an issue. Wax moths can also be an issue if for some reason they are very weak.
Have one with paralysis issues that I believe is linked to shb but they look like they will pull through.
I believe their honey was tainted cause of shb and it gave them the jitters badly.
I switched boxes and cleaned things up, my fingers are crossed on this one, but they appear to be pulling through.
