I know we can copy the pheromone of the queen, but what other bee pheromone can we copy? What I was wondering, if it was possible, one day to have a spray that would cause the queen to start laying like mad or stop her from laying? Maybe a scent that would allow 2 or 3 queens to work and lay in the same hive without swarming? I don't know, just wondering what might be out there one day.
Wouldn't it be better to focus more on natural/organic methods rather than considering to mess with there genetics-Not trying to sounds disrespectful or -ve but mankind would be better off just trying to live with nature as it is rather than trying to make modifications which in the lond run turns out as one big mess - Sad to think that maybe one day your dream does come true and the bees end up losing the natural pollinating abilities :-X :'(
Whatever you do, just don't walk into the bee yard with a bottle of banana oil!

Beesting pheromone smells like banana extract, to us humans anyways.
I've smelled it pretty strongly at times.... LOL
I was once in our kitchen, and was really puzzled (and a little bit alarmed) that I could smell angry bees! What in the world???
Then I realized that there an overripe banana sitting on the counter....
Oh ok.point taken.
