Title: Nite Guard Solar-Powered Night Predator Light
Post by: lakeman on April 17, 2010, 10:19:25 AM
Has anybody tried, or had any experience with this predator light in their Bee yard, and/or garden. It is advertised as unconditionally gauranteed to keep away foxes, coyotes, wolves, bears, deer, raccoon, skunk, any and all wild animals? They consist of a solar powered blinking red led light, that represents the eye of a predator.

While I have no experience with this particular product, it is essentially a scarecrow - something that startles or mimics a predator.  The problem is that if an animal is motivated by food or something else it needs they often adapt to the scare.  I certainly would not expect that it would work for very long against a bear that discovered your hives!

On the other hand it is only thirty bucks, if that is in your comfort range of "I don't mind if I throw it out the window" then you might want to consider it.
