Title: Bottom Board
Post by: scoobee on April 25, 2010, 01:22:56 PM
I'm new and am in the process of putting my first hive together. I have a screened bottom board, one side of it has the staples that hold it to boards, the other side has a lip. Which one should be the top that the bees will crawl on. My concern is if the screen is on top it may hurt the bees, I cut my finger on it. Thank you

what I use sits on top of the rim on the bottom board,  they usually have a 3/4 gap where it sits. Once the hive body is placed on top of the sbb, it should have a 3/4 entrance.

This is what I use. if looked at closer, one can make it fit just about any 10 frame bottom board.
