We have a huge infestation of digger wasps in our yard, maybe 40 feet from my hive. This is the second year we've had them and this year they've really taken over. My kids are scared to play outside, and the dog's been stung a few times. We need to get rid of these guys, and the only way I can find is to use a pesticide. But I'm nervous about this when it's so close to my hive of healthy honey bees. Since the stuff would be put on the ground I'm hoping it wouldn't be an issue for my girls, but I really don't know. Anyone out there got alternative suggestions, or advice? Always appreciated.
I could be wrong but I think the wasps are attracted to the "carnivorous" aspect of the trap and that the bees would not be affected by them. I could be wrong but that's the way I see it.
