Title: Orientation flights, how long??
Post by: Dr. B in Wisconsin on May 15, 2010, 05:43:21 PM
Hello
I was just curious, I have new brood coming out I believe and they are taking their orientation flights. My question is how long will they fly all around above the hive before they get to normal business??

Thanks,
Brian

About 15 minutes. Usually between 2:30 and 4:30 but I have seen orientation flights as early as shortly past noon and sometimes as late as 5:30.
