I want to try feeding by the upturned jar method this year. I remember someone saying/posting that you need to put a .125 inch hole in the top (1/8" drill bit). Is it just one hole or do folks put multiple holes in a given top?
I use a thumbtack and put 8 holes in the lid.
The commercial lids I have use much smaller holes. I don't think they are more than 1/32". I would try to find a 1/16 or smaller drill bit. 3 holes in a cross, 5 holes total, will work fine.
