Title: MN Hygienic
Post by: charlotte on May 18, 2010, 02:03:10 PM
I just requeened a couple of hives with MN hygienic queens...  For those of you that have tried them- how did you like them?  I have heard they are a little hotter sometimes than regular Ital., but I figure they can't be any more aggressive than my Russian hive!  (If I weren't in WI, I would wonder if they weren't Africanized!!  OUCH!--they were one of the hives I requeened..)  Thanks for your comments.  :)

Buckfast, russians, mn, etc. What I have heard is they all get testier with each supercedure, where the genetics are watered down.

Iddee,

Sounds like you should be selecting your hives by "gentle drones" and not "gentle workers" - LOL.
After all, it seems that it's the getting "knocked up" that makes your bees progressively meaner - ROTFL.
