Last winter I lost 9 hives, I have been really bummed over that loss. Well I went to my out yard , just to have a look you know....
Well I found three hives one making its way along, 2 mediums, full after the spring cleaning, they suffered the winter,
Now the other two,, WOW MAN!!! I had in the spring thought they needed some growing room so I went over and gave them a super ea. then another one and finally ,,,These hives are crazi , there is seven mediums just jammed with brood, in one hive, the other is six mediums. This is my third year and I lost lots this past winter, but oh my these guys are just blasting so far. and the size is after I pulled out for splits. Just awesome. I could make another six splits with out blinking an eye, and I don't think the bees would care, I pulled queen cells out of every frame, nearly 30 queen cells, I put two in every split just to be save, and some were already in the splits frames. I checkered the mediums with already pulled frames, and still ended up with all those supers, I am in awe....
And the game is afoot. :)
Glad to hear you are back in business! :-D
Good for you!! I know when my bees are doing well, it just seems like all is right in the world! ;)
