Title: Trying to Start a Hive-Any Arkansans that Can Help?
Post by: jabourns on May 28, 2010, 01:13:05 AM
Hello,

I joined this forum back in 2006 with the idea I was going to begin beekeeping, but at the time circumstances did not allow me to pursue apiary interests.  4 years later here I am with my KTBH made and ready, but no bees.  I have contacted pest control companies and the city I live near to be put on swarm lists, but to no avail.

I live around the Atkins area, and am looking for anyone that can help me get a hive started.  I realize it's a bit late in the year to be trying to harvest any honey, but I would like to get a colony prepared for next year's harvest.  If anyone at all can help, I would appreciate it.

Have you contacted local bee clubs?

Thanks for the link.  Bees seem to be a hard thing to come by in my immediate area.  I will contact a couple of these clubs and see what happens.
