Title: Where to store wax foundation
Post by: montauk170 on June 01, 2010, 02:01:29 AM
Bought some 100% wax foundation sheets from Manns. Have not used them yet and it's getting hot around California. Can I put them in the fridge? Thanks

Just stick them on a shelf somewhere, doesn't have to be refrigerated. I bought some foundation at a yard sale that had been in a barn for years. I stuck it in my shed a couple years ago and haven't yet used it all. It's fine.

We keep ours in the box in a sealed container in an air conditioned room. The foundation I froze due to SHB seemed really brittle days afterward when I cleaned them out, so I am new, but not sure whether freezing the wax foundation hurts it for use later. I thawed them at room temp & left them sealed a few days to see if anything else hatched out before cleaning - nothing did)

Don't handle foundation when it is cold, and if it is brittle, only handle it when it is warmer out.

The melting point of beeswax is in the 140F's, so you probably won't have to worry about it melting, and if you do worry about them melting...well then you might want to worry about yourself melting first... :-D

Leave it in the box with the wax paper in between the sheet and it will be alright any where.
