Title: Pittsburgh company using beeswax to help with oil spill
Post by: tillie on June 19, 2010, 09:43:31 AM
I found this on Naturebee.  A Pittsburgh area company makes those booms that (attempt to) contain the oil spill.  The booms they make are filled with beeswax - microorganisms in the water eat both the oil and the beeswax and leave NOTHING - no oil, no residue.  In the article, they don't say where they get all this beeswax - an apiary behind the plant?  tons of environmentally focused beekeepers in Philly?
