looks like they got some of the mite facts wrong, cant tell varroa from trachel mites.

Just like the media to screw things up.
The just simplyfied it for the readers. Turned two mites into one and combined their characteristics. Never let the facts get in the way of simplyfying the story. :)
Dear lord dont say that, before you know it they would be writing a story about a new super mite. :D
