Title: Last years super frames full of nectar and minimal capped honey
Post by: gguidester on July 10, 2010, 10:16:18 PM
I have about 4 supers that are all drawn comb about 1/2 full of nectar and noncapped honey. I stored them separate from any frames that I extracted, but wonder if I need to spin them to remove the old nectar which may have fermented or if I nedd to scrape them down to the plastic foundation to put them on for honey this season? I did have them stored with the crystalls to prevent wax moths and they look clean.  Thanks in advance!

If you stored them all for almost a year, have you checked to see just how wet the honey is, or if it has gone bad?   I have stored uncapped honey in the freezer for the winter just to return them back on hives this spring.   If the honey has not turned, I would put them back on the hives.
