do you use fume boards and which fume (stinky liquid) do you use and does it hurt the honey. what other options are there when pulling honey supers??? as always thanks for your comments and suggestions. Pembroke

I use a smoker with burlap in it.  I don't use fume boards.  Then I brush the bees off the frames down into the lower super if there are a lot of them but usually when they are smoked they go down.  Two puffs in the lower entrance then the rest on top when I take the cover off.  Hope that helps. :)

I use bee quick. It is the only good smelling one. Also, non-toxic, and dissipates quickly.

Triangular escape boards work well if used properly.
