I don't know that doesn't sound like kids. that sounds like a deliberate attack not random vandalisim

I bet it was done by an adult that that he/she was doing the right thing because all bees sting, and everyone is allergic to bees, and they looked like killer bees, and you should not keep bees around people because they kill, and the government should outlaw honey bees and pit bulls.

Ignorance is the main reason these bees were killed, whether by kids or adults.

Whatever happened to "If it doesn't not belong to you, don't touch it. Leave it alone." and other classic toddler level lessons in respecting private property?

I had a Lady at church say she was going to call the DCFS on me because I have bees and children. Just like the person who killed those bees people can't mind their own business.

i'd look up the number, drive to her house, hand her the number, and offer the use of my cell phone.

i'd probably say some other stuff too

Unfortunately, Kathy, in this day that would get kids taken away.  DCFS takes the kids first and asks questions later.  Unless, of course, you're an actual child molester/beater.

The real solution is to do what I did--invite the entire church over to see the apiary!  If beerman's church is anything like mine, that will stop the problem cold.  And now that we are getting involved with the scouting project, it's a perfect excuse for even more involvement.  I invite them over any chance I get, and most of them love it!

Yesterday I ran in to our girl scout leader in a check-out line, so I invited her troop over, too.

DCFS has no heart, but our church would now gladly sing the praises of our little beek operation.  Anyone in the congregation who might have a dissenting opinion would be quietly taken aside and "re-educated" by the elders, and that would be that.  And never mind that she happens to be my mother... :-X

Hmmm.... you're right...  for once they might be useful.  That is, assuming they consider bees to be animals.

Oh my gosh, you have children and bees?  How do you keep the bees from killing your children?

A swarm of killer bees is headed this way! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNZnn3El3yE&feature=related#)

Not sure they consider them animals or not. But that has not stopped them over the years from calling beekeepers rapists, slave masters, and thieves.

Only if you stand for it, it wouldn't be the first time I met someone at the property line while armed and gave them the " Get off my Land " speech. Told that to DYS in NH once, they were inspecting why my two sons were allowed to jump off the bridge into the lake..........allowed??....no, they are boys and just did it, but they are MY kids, not the states, so "GET OFF MY LAND", or someone else will carry you, in a green rubber bag. End of story.

I have heard AllenF's quote enough in real life. Even our pediatrician was almost mortified when I requested epi-pens, to have on hand "just in case", because we already have kids and were getting bees.
