I was recently in Istanbul and saw lots of honey for sale. Most of it was in the comb. We went to the Spice Market and saw lots of honey and comb for sale. Thought I would share a few pics. One of the shots shows caviar encased in bees wax to preserve it. I did not really look at the price so sorry I can't tell you what it was going for. The thing that struck me was there was a lot of it for sale - saw it everywhere and again mostly cut comb. Here are the pics (hopefully it posts correctly)

Cheers!

That looks great. Did you try any of it?
That is awesome.
Thank you.
Excellent. I can almost smell the market. More pictures would be great.
that looks great. we have had some members from turkey on here. haven't seen any to active for awhile.
Thanks for the comments. I did have some at breakfast a number of mornings. Cut comb on bread along with olives, cucumbers, tomatoes and hard boiled eggs. Not your typical breakfast! The honey was very good - mild, light in color.
I saw smaller portions of cut comb in plastic containers at pretty much every little corner store. But the large frame size comb at the spice market was a surprise. Also, the Turks have great pastries - think Baklava, but in many different variations - which are dripping with honey. Big towers of pastry dripping head to toe with honey. Yummmmmmmm. :) Clearly, they like their honey!
I don't have any more honey pics of honey, but here are a couple more from the spice market -

Very nice colorful displays - I recognized cinnamon and nutmeg in the top picture but the rest I probably wouldnt know with a labeled jar in my hand. At least those merchants know how to put up an attractive display.
Making my mouth water!
