Title: 4/11 Queens hatched. What happened?
Post by: WhipCityBeeMan on July 26, 2010, 09:20:54 PM
I am new at raising queens.  I use the Jenter system.  I had 11 capped cells that I transfered to nucs but only 4 of those 11 hatched out of the cells. Most of the ones that didnt hatch were developed in the cell but dead.  I waited about 4 days after the hatch date just to be sure I waited long enough before I examined inside the cells.  Any thoughts on why this happened?  I would appreciate feedback so I can improve on my queen rearing.   Anyone have 6 extra queens they dont need --  haha.

With the hatch day being 16, what day did you make the nucs and install the cells?

I transfered them on day 14 or 2 days previous to hatching.
