Title: Scored at the scrap yard today!
Post by: hardwood on August 16, 2010, 03:22:24 PM
We needed to buy some plate aluminum from the scrap yard today. As they were weighing the plate I happened to notice a Dadant junior 2 frame extractor so I had them throw that in with the order. $36! It's in great shape too. I'll have to clean it up a bit but other than that it's ready for service. I use a commercial extraction service when we pull honey, but this will come in handy if we just want to extract a few frames.

I can't figure out why in the world someone would sell it for scrap. They could have gotten at least $150 for it on craigs list.

And yes, I'm feelin' pretty lucky...might have to try my hand at the lottery today!

You may want to go back and see what else they will sell you.  Talk about your luck.  How many lotto tickets did you buy today?
