This past weekend, my family traveled to Mecklenburg County Virginia, to take part in the National Honey Bee Day festivities. Thomas, who is a member here, is also president of the Mecklenburg County Bee Association. His hospitality was fantastic, and my family enjoyed the entire weekend.
Iddee also traveled over a hundred miles after taking time away from a fishing trip, to have lunch and rub elbows at the event. It was nice to finally meet him, and his son.
I met some rather colorful characters, and perhaps other Beemaster folks. But names and conversations all seem like a blurr.
For all the Beemaster folks around the country taking part in the National Honey Bee Day program, a huge thank you to all.
:cheer:
Sounds like you had a good time with some good people!!
Just like to add my 2 cents to Bjorn and all the members on this site who give of their time to answer questions and share information. Thank you so much. I first kept bees throughout the 1980s, then had to quite until recently. I can't believe how much having a site like this has enhanced the pleasure I derive from this hobby. First, I have learned that there are a lot of other crazy people like me out there who are addicted to their "girls." Secondly, I feel so much more comfortable that I am doing the right thing for my "girls" cause I have a whole host of experienced beeks ready, willing and able to talk me through questions, problems, concerns, etc.
You guys are just the best.

It was a very nice lunch.... ;)
Just remember the saying, "blogging makes nice people rude, and rude people ruder!"
Most hard cases on forums turn out to be really nice people in person. Some have actually said that about me.... :-D
WHAT???? WHO????
Even tho I might think it, I don't remember admitting it. :-P
