Title: Old Algiers Bees Removal-Agust 26, 2010
Post by: JP on August 27, 2010, 10:38:00 AM
This colony was about the same size as the Lakeview bees colony but with more bees and a beautiful queen. Had to lug all my equipment down a long alley way to get to these folks.

Great video.  I can't believe that you complained about a little 3/4" plywood being heavy.   Don't you live in hurricane country, you need that weight to keep the hive put.    And with the rubber bands on the wrist, my 4 year old has been wearing silly bands in the wrist for a year now.

How old was the house there.  The lap board seemed to be falling apart.  I did not know with the tar paper behind it.

So Schawee taught your daughter how to wear rubber bands, huh?  :-D

I don't think the house has had a coat of paint in twenty years. I would guess the house to be around eighty years old.

If in a tornado one can always hide under Schawee's hives, the strongest one could never lift the weight of those bottom boards alone!  :-D

Tommy, I have four bee yards and around eighty hives, some of those are nucs. Schawee has been helping me quite a bit and all of the ones I/we have removed in the last few months have gone to him.

Yeah Irwin, remember Schawee said he gonna have his initiation video up this weekend!

Oh, hey, I'm always makin' some Liz unhappy. Liz is my wife's name as well.

But Irwin and Liz, I said I got happy after a while on the video. Having your face knee deep in bees is a sure cure to lifting someone's spirits.

The bees turned my frown upside down.

But, hey, thanks for caring!  ;)

This was really a nice video and I was laughing a lot watching this. JP I don't think I have ever seen you in a bad mood.

I truly enjoyed the music on this one. I have to ask you what is the name of that beautiful music at the end. I am wearing a stereo headset when I listen to your videos, because I can hear things better.  Well this was amazing because I heard the bees buzzing in one ear and then it went to my other ear. Stereo, fabulous sound and that music sounded so so good with my headset on.

I also liked how you pulled away from the hive with the camera and the scene got smaller and smaller. You are playing around a lot now and it all is working out well.

But I know for a fact, that "your" Liz is a happy girl.

Take care
Annette

Annette, the music pieces are clips from Imovie. First one is called Indulge, second is called Investigation.
