I've ordered from BetterBee a few times, and my father lives near there, so he (also a beek) stops in at the retail store from time to time.  They're a pretty good outfit.  http://www.betterbee.com/ (http://www.betterbee.com/)

Also, Brushy Mountain (http://www.brushymountainbeefarm.com/ (http://www.brushymountainbeefarm.com/)) and Dadant (http://www.dadant.com/ (http://www.dadant.com/)) are popular.

I order from them all, depending on who has the best price on what I want, but I order from BetterBee the most cause they carry a lot of 8 frame medium stuff I use.  Don't really have a good local supplier here in OKC.

Brushy and Rossmans are the two I buy from now.   You need to look at shipping and which suppliers are close to you.   Shipping is a big deal with large orders.

Yup, shipping, shipping, shipping is the key.  I will usually go through an on-line order process with Dadent and Glory Bee right up to the end to see who comes out better.  I've learned that even though Glory Bee's items are more expensive, they are often more affordable because of the shipping.

I used to buy everything from Mannlake until Brushy Mountain opened a warehouse about 5 miles from my house.  Mannlake is real good, but I have to keep the shipping costs to a minimum.

TommyT, Dadant has a location close to you in High Springs, Fl.   You might could make a trip one afternoon up 75 there.

Yea, Dadant because you can drive or you can order directly from the high Springs location so shipping is less. But, Always call them, no online orders! Had all kind of mishaps with corporate.  Thats just me though.

I have a couple of supers from Mann Lake, new this year, that I didn't paint, per some people's suggestion. They are warping pretty badly at the joints, leaving some spacious opennings. My fault for not painting or not using enough nails (I only nailed where the predrilled holes were, now I see a few other places I might add nails)? Or are there better suppliers of supers? It never seemed like those supers went together very well.

winginit, it doesn't matter who you buy from, if you don't protect it somehow it will do that! Don't blame Mann Lake if it warps.

B & B Honey farm www.bbhoneyfarm.com (http://www.bbhoneyfarm.com) is excellent.  They are located in MN, so shipping to you in FL probably is high.  For me, they ship Speedy Delivery Service, so to WI it is the cheapest! I have also used their MN hygienic queens which have done well for me.

Dadant is also great. I have gotten good queen from them as well.

Mann Lake has a lot of nice products & good customer service too.

Brushy Mountain has been top notch too. They also offer free shipping at certain times of the year.

First, I try to support the local woodenware makers. I throw business their way, and they do the same. It also makes sense on so many levels to support "local" businesses.

Second, I buy from those supporting the bee association get togethers I attend. This saves on shipping costs. And if they are coming to support (even make money) from the conferences, I see no reason to go elsewhere. These are the people that give door prizes, gift certificates and support the association in other ways also.

I almost never buy anything that involves shipping fees

Not sure if Mann-Lake is for the whole country or not. Brushy Mt. is only east of the Mississippi but thankfully so am I .

Mann lake is free shipping, but, make sure you check the prices before you order.   They had a price increase on everything to pay for the free shipping.   In some cases it is cheaper to pay for the shipping with another company than with the free shipping with Mann Lake.

Miller Bee Supply (https://millerbeesupply.com/?ccUser=) of North Wilkesboro, NC has excellent prices and they almost always ship the same day I call.  That means I get delivery the next day using UPS ground rates.
