Hi there, I've got a question. How many minutes or seconds of one gram of formic acid should I vaporize each colony? Vaporizer that I'm using is the one that I'm attaching a picture of. I've been searching on youtube and whole bunch of other websites, some are using it for 2 1/2 minutes and others up to 15 minutes. What do you suggest?
Thanks a lot.

oxalic acid- 8-) till its gone-RDY-B
Oxalic acid is applied at 1 gram per deep hive body.

as stated this is a oxailic acid burner not formic. Time will vary from 1 to 3 minutes. What you should do is a trial run out of a hive. Set it up down wind, plug it in and watch your watch. Mine will burn completely in 2 minutes

If I have 2 deep body hives, does it mean i need to do 2 grams?
Yes

First of all, thank you all for your replies.
Another question: When you do this treatment is hive suppose to be 100% broodless or can their be some?
I have one hive that has about 200 verona mites per day, and 2 others that are less than 100 a day. Would I need to treat all 3 of them or the one that has the most?
Thanks again.
you do 3 treatments 7 days apart with brood. Oxalic does not penetrate cappings so 3 treatment are nessesary.
Ditto what danno said. We never have a complete break in the brood cycle here in FL but I do try to treat in Dec/Jan when the brood is at it's least. With 200 mites a day I would hit them now.

My vaporizer takes about 1 minute for 2 grams. I would treat all 3 hives immediately with that kind of mite count.
