Title: Need queen soon
Post by: foxman on October 18, 2010, 04:38:34 PM
Anybody know of a good reputable dealer that still has queens available? At this point the bred does not matter to me. I got a late cutout saturday and was unable to locate the queen, the brood was spotty and small i believe the colony may have been queenless to start. id hate to see this hive die out but am worried about it being to late to requeen before winter? I contacted Herdeman apiaries but they are out hunting untill mon, and i would really like to have a queen earlier than next week.

Tom, it might, i can always call and get their opinion, if it comes to it theres a place in texas that may have them but i prefer not to get it from them as i was not happy with my last queen from them.

I've got queens but I don't think you have much of a chance at this time of year. It's best to combine with another hive and split in the spring.

This Guy (name slips me rt now) was very good he sold me a Nuc
so I could use some Brood for a trap out He told me more than
a few times to call him,
If I had any problems or any thing went wrong with the bees
He then said If you need Queens no Need to Ride all the way out here
I can mail them too you
It was about 1 1/2 hours away
The Little Nuc is doing good and the bees are Friendly if fact he marked
her for me so its real easy for me too find her Watched her Fly off too (she returned )
I'm going to steal a little more brood from it again
this time I will just cut a 1/3  frame opposed a full frame

Edited to say

There you go Get them From HW
