Title: All Is Well, in more ways than one.
Post by: splitrock on December 25, 2010, 01:15:39 PM
After each snow, I like to see how quick the warmth from the hive melts the snow off the cover. Tells me that at least for now and with this hive, all is well. I took this photo today, after a 3 inch snowfall yesterday.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Can you imagine, Georgia got a white Christmas this year.   My bees don't know what to think about all this cold this year (or the rest of the animals).  But the layer of snow on the hives should help a little against the real cold cold.

Good thing we have this global warming problem eh Allen?

I am surprised the snow may be around long enough to have insulation value for you down there in Georgia.

If it drops to the 20s tonight, any snow will help.

I'd like to see it get UP to the 20's.

I hear ya skatesailor. We were sub zero this morning with single digit highs today, and no sign of above freezing temps anytime soon.
