and i was wondering if anyone had close ups of the bees body...or if anyone knows if it's against some copyright law to just draw a diagram of one similar to something you would find in a texxtbook

You can not copy someone else, but if you film it or you draw it, then you own it. If you use someones idea, cite their work. If you like their pic ask to copy and give them credit.
i could use someone elses if they give me permission and proper credit is given in the movie

Nothing lasts forever, and that includes copyrights! Patents are only good for 17 to 20 years. IMO, copyrights should become public domain after 20 years too. Unfortunately for society, they have gotten extended to 75 to 100 years at this point.
However, the good news is there are a lot of good bee books from 100 years ago with good info and good drawings. For some nice legs, go to Google Books and download:
BeeKeeping, Everett Phillips, 1915 pages 124, 125.
Langstroth and The Honey Bee, 1913 also has some nice diagrams.
Google does ask you don't use (resell) their scanned books for $$, but that sounds like more of a request than a law. You could always head down to Ann Arbor and scan some diagrams from an old out of copyright books too.
I didn't realize we had any Hollywood directors so close to Durand. I do have some digital photos of bees I would give you, but they are not super good. They were taken with a cheap point and shoot. I don't have a macro lens for the DSLR camera.
Klepto, if you want any dead bees to take photos of, I could drop some off in Vernon. I've got plenty to spare :)
It might be easier to take close-up photos of dead bees anyways.
