Title: Newbe from Kentucky
Post by: cabinman30 on January 12, 2011, 07:16:47 PM
I am going to get into honeybees this year.  I have no idea what I am getting into, but have been reading for over a year about them.  I would like to find someone in my area that I could learn from, but that is a hard thing to do.  I have 49 acres that have over 25 apple trees on, so I should have a good little place to start.

Hello and Welcome!

I'm sure you'll find this forum to be a great place to learn more about bees and beekeeping. Please post your location in your profile. Much of beekeeping is "location-specific", so we'll be better able to answer your questions if we know where you are.

You shouldn't have that much trouble finding other beekeepers in Kentucky. Find a local club and get involved:

Clubs are great for finding mentors and getting connected with nearby beekeepers. Plus, club members can recommend local suppliers of bees and equipment.

Keep us posted on your progress!
