Deer Hunting With Schawee In The Swamp-Part One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0LwU2qa-64#ws)
Great footage Bro! I hope to see you drop that one with the branches on it's head in part two!
Scott
Great shots with that camera for 150, 200 yards out. I like that coon running the deer off the pile.
After watching the footage I'm not so sure this four pointer is the young one he showed me pictures of after our hunt. We'll see what he has to say.
I sure enjoyed this hunt, always fun watching deer move about.

The first deer at the end of the pipeline is between 550 and 600 yards. The rice bran pile is 180-200 yards out.
I had my camera on the tripod but you can't open it all the way up and hunt without hitting it, so some of the footage is a little shaky.
Yeah, I don't think my camera did a bad job.
With more time or views not sure what it is the videos seem to get much clearer, a youtube thing.
Looking forward to this evening's hunt!

Hey Jp who's rifle you using :-D :-P
Funny you should ask Irwin. :-D
I brought my 270 but have never shot it past 165 yards for the kind of hunting I usually do. Schawee decided it was best I use his 30 06, same as my gun, bolt action Remington 700 series.
I told him I better shoot it, he said why? Its dead on. But I told him maybe I hold the gun a little differently so we decided to shoot it.
Good thing I did as I shot about 6 inches above the bull's eye at 100 yards.
We made an adjustment and I shot again and hit where we need it 3 inches above the bull's eye, dead center.
Schawee's at the camp so he can't view the video footage but is going to check the camera to verify what deer he actually is.
I'm thinking that deer is a 2 and a 1/2 yr old.
We'll see what he says but either way he said to drop the hammer on 'em this evening if he's the best one that comes out.
Getting real excited!

JP, those big bodied does taste the same as that buck. :-D
Allen, they don't shoot does and it has to be at least four points. Schawee prefers to take deer with some age to them but every now and then they have pity on some poor soul who ain't killed a deer in a long time. :-D

Around here they want you to shoot the does and let the young bucks walk. Limit for does is 10. Bucks 2. And one of those must have at least 4 points on one side. State wide. September to the end of Jan.
hope you dont get the shakes looking at all that meet on the hoo.
folks, that deer was a 3 1/2 year old 6pt. and about 175lbs.he gave me some bad info.on that deer.the young 4pt i was talking about is about the same size as the does .i would have poped a cap on him in a heart beat. :evil:allen we don,t shoot does but every now and then we will take a select few.ill let him tell yall about the hunt today. ...schawee
Yep, I messed up, should have asked Schawee more questions about this buck. He said a young lad took him this evening. He was 175lbs.
Oh well. :'(
Good news is we are going at it again tomorrow evening.
