was talking to my sister and bro-in-law. the subject of bees came up and they asked me when the flow was in their area? I told them I would see if I could find out. they live in western new york. can anyone here help me out? :?
You might give this link a try. It shows the states and you can click and find the area your interested in and find bloom dates for that area.

"When does the flow begin?" is sort of like "When does spring begin?"
Yes, there's an official date on the calendar marking the beginning of spring, but when things start blooming changes from year to year. Last year in my area we had an "early" spring and things were blooming significantly earlier than most years (by about two weeks). Other years winter has hung around and things get a late start.
I keep things as simple as I can: when I see dandelions begin to bloom, I put supers on the hives.

Interesting. It is same with me here in Finland.
Apple trees bloom here with dandelion.
