I'm a complete newbie. Just got my bee suit etc and getting my bees next week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Welcome redhat! There are a couple of other Jamaican beeks here although they haven't posted in a while...good going with your bees!

Welcome,

Sounds like a great place to keep bees.
You can play with them 24/7 and not worry about winter die-off and not be able to do athing till spring.
