Post by: slacker361 on March 26, 2011, 05:18:53 PM
Saw one the other day down at my hive. Not sure if it was in the hive, but would have to think it was. is there something I should do or look for so i don't loose my hive?

Slacker if you have a healthy hive the bees will take care of the wax moth issues. If you have a weak hive you might have to treat.  If you are in western pa you dont have to worry about wax moth till summer they arent out right now up here in pa

Sure it was a wax moth? They are not out yet but there is another brownish-greyish moth out now (i am not sure of its name but for us maple sugaring we call it 'sap moth'). Any sugar maple around?
