Hi all,
 whats earyone thoughts on queen banking?
like how long can it be done safely?
 
 after all this rain I must do my beework.
they have been banked for about two weeks
is that to long?

       keep having fun its starting to work!!!!

You have multiple queens banked in a queenless colony?  I bought one last week that had been banked in this manner for 3 weeks.  She was down to fighting weight, but after released in the colony, she fattened up and began laying around the 5th day.

I've only done it for a few weeks at a time before, but that's the downside. The queen ends up slim and takes a few days to fatten back up and start laying.  Of course sometimes the bees decide to kill one of them.  :)
