Title: POLL - Feeding Bees
Post by: Beecharmer on June 17, 2005, 05:26:27 PM
I wanted to do a poll, but wasn't quite sure how to.  Anyway, I am wondering how many people keep feeding sugar water to the bees after they put their supers on.  I always thought that was considered "adulterated honey", but I am finding out that people are still feeding after putting on supers.  They claim the bees don't draw the foundation out fast enough otherwise.  What does everyone else do?

To do a poll you need to do the following things:
- click the edit button on your post
- at the bottom of your post you'll see an area that mentions about polls
- fill in the information it asks for

Not too hard. Or you can leave the posting as it is and just sort it out in your head.

By the way, I don't feed sugar water to my hives anymore. I only did that on my first hive that was a package. If they ran out of honey, I would feed them.

Beecharmer - You are correct, this is adulterated honey.

I don't see a reason to do this. Unless it rains for 40 days and nights after the supers are on and you know that they have no stores of honey.  If you ware feeding them sugar syrup, then no honey supers.
