Title: How long before she lays eggs?
Post by: Hemlock on April 15, 2011, 11:00:50 PM
I made the Nuc on March 22.  On April 3 i saw capped queen cells.  Today I marked the queen but saw NO eggs! I figure she emerged around last Saturday April 9th or so.  I expected to see eggs already but I'm apparently wrong.

It will take the new queen a day or 2 before she begins her mating flights, she will go on as many as 12 or more mating flights, weather permiting, over the course of a week to 10 days.  Seeing eggs within 10 days of hatch is good, not until 14 days okay, if it goes longer than 3 weeks then get worried.

I expect eggs in two weeks from emergence.
