Title: Beekeeping in Aruba?
Post by: teezbees on May 05, 2011, 05:20:44 PM
Does anyone know if there are any apiaries on the island of Aruba? My wife and I are going there next week on vacation, and if there are any beekeeping operations there, I'd like to see if I could check them out while we're there.

Thanks,

Travis

I would suspect they probably do.  On the other hand i would also expect it to be in a well unsavory part of the island.  Seems like what tourists see and how real life is on those islands are totally different.  So a word of caution is what i offer if you decide to persue this further.

I agree with the caution thing! My wife and I were given the same advice in Costa Rica. I would be wary of anyone named Vandersloot as well! It would be interesting to taste their honey and discover their honey plants!

This isn't my first rodeo. I think I'll be just fine. If I find some local honey, I'll post a pic.
